INFO & EXPeRIMENTS

Recently I made an experiment with some people to see how they reacted.

1] I told them to describe a firefighter.

Reaction] Most people referred to their description of the firefighter as a man. But others referred to the firefighter as person.

2] I asked them the following riddle: A man and his son suffer a car crash, in the car crash the dad dies. But luckily, the son survives and is taken to to the hospital. Where he has to have a surgery, but the doctor who has to operate on him says I can't operate on him he is my son. How can this be?

Reaction] Most  people, said that the father was a homosexual or that one of the fathers was an adoptive father. And very few people  got the answer which was that the doctor was the boys's mom.

Conclusion and why I think it happened: I think these type of things happen because  we have these stereotypes fixed up in our heads causing us to limit our thinking.
